Sapient Automation Names Executive Vice President

Sapient Automation, Hatfield, Pa., has appointed Colman Roche as executive vice president. Roche will be responsible for leading multiple areas within the company while implementing automated storage and retrieval material handling systems, including Viper vertical lift modules (VLMs), Avenger Vertical Carousels and Hornet Horizontal Carousels, and Shark Inventory Management Software sold and integrated through dealer business partners.

Roche previously served as vice president of sales at KardexRemstar, Westbrook, Maine. Prior to joining KardexRemstar, he worked at White Systems, Kenilworth, N.J., serving as product engineer, research and development engineer, project manager, and systems engineer.

Roche holds a B.Sc. (Eng) from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, a Dip. Eng. from the Dublin Institute of Technology, an MBA from Rutgers University, and an Executive Education Certificate from Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland (IEI), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Materials Handling Institute of America (MHIA).
