Southworth Buys Marco Group AB

Southworth International Group is acquiring Marco Group AB of Angelholm, Sweden. Both companies manufacture ergonomic material-handling equipment for lifting and positioning goods. 

"This transaction is strategically important for us for several reasons," said Brian McNamara, president of Southworth. "First, it accelerates our presence in both European and Asian markets in which we see significant opportunities. Second, it supplements our existing product supply in China, for both domestic and international trade."

He added: "Between the strong presence in the European market and the extensive manufacturing capabilities globally, we feel that we can gain a competitive position not only overseas but domestically as well.  We are thrilled to welcome Marco Group AB to the Southworth family."
