Speedy Lifting’s Acquisition Fosters Growth for LGH USA

Although it shares the same name and logo as U.K.-based Lifting Gear Hire Group plc, Lifting Gear Hire Corp., Bridgeview, Ill., runs as a separate division with regards to its internal departments and financial backing, and the company was not affected by Speedy Lifting's acquisition of LGH Group last month.

According to Tony Fiscelli, general manager of LGH's U.S. operations, Speedy Lifting's purchase of LGH Group is a great growth opportunity for LGH USA. “This sale will allow for more resources to be invested back into the U.S. portion of the business,” he said.

With this move, the U.S. operations will be able to focus on new markets, branch openings, and adding more staff. In 2006, LGH USA invested more than two million dollars in rental inventory, and Fiscelli expects this number to continue in upcoming years.
