Star platforms invests £2M in 2019

UK rental company Star Platforms continues to grow its hire fleet with £2 million investment in powered access platforms, adding over 350 platforms to their fleet in 2019.

Star Platforms, which opened its fifth depot in 2018, has continued to invest in powered access platforms taking its total fleet to more than 1730 machines.

The company has invested in more hybrid technology, with the purchase of seven Niftylift Height Rider articulating boom lifts with working heights ranging from 21 to 28m. They have also taken delivery of several Skyjack SJ46AJ 4×4 articulating boom lifts, as well as some SJ66T telescopic booms.

A large proportion of their investment saw them add more than 70 Skyjack scissor lifts to the fleet. This included the highly utilised 3219 electric scissor lift, which provides a working height of 7.8m with a width of 0.81m; making it a popular choice for several internal and external construction tasks and two rough terrain scissor lift models: the diesel 6826RT and the electric 6832RTE.

As demand for low level access platforms has also increased and Star Platforms has continued to grow its offering with the addition of 50 products from Power Tower and a number of mast lifts from Dingli and Haulotte.
