Sunbelt Rentals go green with Faresin electric telehandler

One of the UK market leaders for equipment rental solutions, Sunbelt Rentals, has placed a multiple unit order for the new Faresin 6.26 full electric telehandler.

After a major rebrand in 2020, the company announced that they expected results to surpass previous predictions despite the Covid-19 pandemic and continued to invest in new equipment.

Purchased from the UK dealer GGR Group, the Faresin lithium battery powered telehandlers are the first of their kind on the market.

Sunbelt Rentals sales and marketing director, Dave Harris says, “Our commitment to innovation, especially in the green arena, led to the purchase of these machines. We have seen that they have been introduced to the market with great effect and are already being requested on major national infrastructure projects”.

“Whilst Italian manufacturer Faresin is a relative newcomer to the construction sector, they have a heritage spanning almost five decades. The partnership with GGR Group gives confidence in the level of support that we should expect with this product. It is reassuring to know that their eye for innovation is supporting the introduction of this product to the market”.

The new Faresin electric telehandler is powered by a fast charging lithium-ion battery pack. Unlike regular lead acid batteries this can be opportunity charged without any damage or reduction to the battery life. A regular 110v on-board charger is included when larger power supplies are not available and can be used for an overnight charge. The standard 300Ah battery will last up to six hours of typical use with a rapid recharge time of 1.5 hours from zero with the external fast charger.

The electric machine provides a range of benefits and notable savings, not only in emission levels, but also maintenance and running costs when compared to traditional internal combustion engine equipment.
