The LEEA to Support Crane Conference as Canada Presence Grows

The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) has signed up as a Supporting Organisation at this year’s Crane & Rigging Conference (CRC) Canada, which takes place October 22-23 at the Edmonton Marriott at River Cree Resort, Edmonton, Alberta. The LEEA will send a representative to Alberta, where the association has a growing presence.

CRC Canada, now in its third year, is organised by Maximum Capacity Media, the publisher of Lift & Hoist International (LHI) magazine.

Denis Hogan, LEEA regional manager—west, a region which incorporates Canada, will attend the conference. He said: “Although the list of LEEA members within Canada is relatively small, over the last two years there has been a growing interest within the market in the benefits that our association can offer to its members.”

Hogan (pictured) said such interest does not appear to be limited to any one particular industry sector and that current membership covers manufacturers, distributors, training providers and providers of other services.

“We have noted that more recently the oil and gas sector has started to take more interest in the activities of our association, particularly those related to the training and qualifications we offer for personnel engaged in activities associated with the inspection and testing of lifting equipment and accessories,” Hogan said.
