Toyota Honored with National Safety Council Award, Green Supplier Status

Toyota Material Handling USA, Inc. (TMHU), Irvine, Calif., reports that Toyota Industrial Equipment Mfg, Inc. was awarded the the Occupational Excellence Achievement Award by the National Safety Council.

The Occupational Excellence Achievement Award is given to companies that have a lost time injury rate of less than 50 percent of companies in the same business classification. The National Safety Council tracks data in accordance with the federal OSHA calendar year standard. During the last calendar year, TIEM achieved a lost-time incident rate less than 7 percent of the average rate in the same business classification.

TMHU also has been named as one of 75 Green Supply Chain Partners in Inbound Logistics Magazine’s annual listing for the third consecutive year. Chosen for this title because of their environmentally friendly solutions and manufacturing process, the ranking demonstrates Toyota’s dedication to supply chain sustainability.

The Green 75 feature is designed to provide decision support for Inbound Logistics’ readers seeking to do business with sustainable providers. To be eligible for the ranking, companies must provide logistics service with an emphasis on eco-friendly solutions. The listing includes 75 companies, which are categorized based on the services provided.
