Two Awards Up for Grabs at LiftEx 2013 Innovation Theatre
Following the success of the show’s Innovation Theatre in 2012, this year’s LiftEx event will announce winners in two categories when it takes place 14-15 November at the UK’s USN Bolton Arena. The Innovation Theatre will be sponsored by LiftEx Official Publication, Lift & Hoist International (LHI).
The Innovation Theatre is just one feature of a two-day trade show, organised by the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA), where suppliers to the lifting industry will present their latest lifting products and services to an audience of end users from the UK and beyond—all under one roof over two days.
In 2012, such was the quality of entries for one award, the judging panel decided at the 11th hour to add a Highly Commended award for a second product in addition to the outright winner.
Judges noted both the quality and variety of products on show before naming Lift Turn Move’s Limpet L5 fall prevention system from Limpet Technology as the LEEA Best Innovation Award winner. With working at height a consistent theme, the Supine Harness from Checkmate Lifting & Safety was Highly Commended.
Judges will this year name the LEEA Most Innovative Product Award and the LEEA Most Innovative Application of an Existing Product Award.
Companies will have the opportunity to present a new product or application to a captive audience of up to 50 seated visitors within the theatre for 30 minutes, and have the opportunity to compete for the titles.
The ninth edition of LEEA’s LiftEx show will be the biggest yet, continuing to grow year on year, with the 2012 show having 55% more exhibition space and 25% more visitors than the previous year. In Bolton, there is an even larger show floor, with the Innovation Theatre making its second appearance. There were almost 600 attendees at LiftEx 2012. With planned additional promotional activities targeted specifically to end user markets, organisers expect even more visitors in 2013.
