MEC unveils all-electric 16ft mast MEWP
MEC Aerial Work Platforms has launched its first all-electric mast platform – the MMAE16. The new machine has a compact design and eliminates the potential risk oil leaks for environmentally safe applications due to zero hydraulic oil. With all-electric lift, steer, and drive, the MMAE16 delivers optimal battery duty cycle while requiring less charge time and delivering more up time with no compromise to performance.
At an indoor working height of 22ft and 18ft outdoors, the new mast is perfect for data centres, hospitality, food, and pharmaceutical applications. Along with being lightweight at 2170lb and having low ground pressure, the machine is suitable for standard elevators and use across a wide range of floor types. At 78in tall and with no folding rails, it is easy to get through standard door frames. Like the MME Series, the new mast comes with a standard glide out deck extension of 20in to easy and convenient to access more work areas.
Gary Crook, VP of engineering at MEC says, “MEC stays true to our mission of ‘A Better Solution’ in everything we do, and this is a strong confirmation for a delivering an all-electric machine and eliminating the potential of hydraulic leaks.”
The MMAE16 is designed to respond to the market’s requirement for lower emissions and eco-friendly solutions. Along with being all-electric the new mast is said to deliver a better cost of ownership for rental companies and increased productivity for their customers.
