Modulift Spreader Frame Lifts John Deere Tractor

A Modulift spreader frame was used when a lifting equipment rental company was presented with an eleventh-hour requirement to provide critical equipment to lift a 6t John Deere tractor in London.

Keltbray, a provider of specialist construction and civil engineering services, issued a scope of work to Hudson Lifting Limited, which had just 36 hours to source and supply the frame and two 12t capacity lifting nets that would wrap around the tractor’s tyres.

Based on the weight and dimensions of the tractor, Hudson Lifting selected a CMOD 24 spreader frame. The CMOD concept is designed to expand the capabilities of the standard Modulift spreader beam range; the struts from the beam are combined with four corner units to complete the frame. Customers that already have Modulift struts can use them with the corner units to achieve four-point lifts and, with the addition of T-pieces, can increase lift points further.

Danny Smalldridge, director at Hudson Lifting, says, “We accepted a task to provide the rigging gear that would complete a below-the-hook rig used to lower the tractor into a void beneath ground level. The frame was chosen based on the position of the wheels and the requirement of lifting nets, which was the only rigging option considered in this instance. We were up against the clock so were grateful for Modulift’s stock holding capabilities which allowed us to complete a 370-mile round trip to guarantee delivery.”

The Modulift CMOD spreader system is currently available from the CMOD 6 up to the CMOD 250.
