Three overhead cranes for a new pumping station in Ecuador

Spain-based Jaso Industrial Cranes has carried out a turnkey project for Acciona in the city of Guayaquil, which will help improve the city’s sanitary sewer system

Acciona, a company that provides sustainable solutions worldwide, has chosen Jaso cranes for the construction of the new La Pradera Pumping Station (EBAR) which will form part of the future Las Esclusas Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).

Jaso’s solution was to carry out a turnkey project, which included the design, building, assembly and commissioning of its hoisting equipment.

At present, the new station has three, single-girder, overhead cranes. The first of these, a 5t  model with a span of 2.8m, has a clamshell bucket for the removal of waste found in the screening chamber. The other two: a 3.2t  model and a 10t model – with spans between 10.5 and 16.5m – are already in service performing assembly and maintenance work on the water pumps.

Through Jaso’s  local technical support services in Guayaquil, Ecuador, the company provides Acciona with ongoing maintenance to ensure the cranes’ high level performance.
